The movie mogul launched the #Hesgotthewholeworldchallenge on Instagram with a new video. At the beginning of the 8 minutes 15 seconds clip, Perry called on musicians to add to the song he was about to sing.
"It's my hope that we add to this simple song in every language from every nation as we let it become a prayer for our whole world."
He asked his followers to remember it's all in God's hands. The "The Haves and Have Not" creator then tagged several celebrities to the challenge.
He noted that it was not the time to point fingers, and indicated that maybe "It" came to stop the hatred and rhetoric
"… Thank you for doing this. For caring, for having such a kind and giving mindset, and for including us all."
Perry asked his fans to take the virus seriously. He noted that it was not the time to point fingers, and indicated that maybe "It" came to stop the hatred and rhetoric.
The Atlanta resident added that the virus is a reminder that everyone is "One." The "Good Deeds" star is also washing his hands regularly and wants others to do the same.
