Barely weeks after "Chicago Fire" shocked viewers with the loss of Otis at the season 8 premiere, the NBC show is set to lose another firehouse, 51 rescue hero.
Following the fifth episode of the ongoing season of the series, "Chicago Fire," there have been growing speculations that one of the few female fire operatives might be leaving the 51 crew, and soon.
BUCKLE UP FOR YET ANOTHER LOSS
The fifth episode, rightly titled "Buckle Up," went down with the usual heroic acts of the firemen in pursuit of security threats. This time, the team was in pursuit of car crashers who aimed to turn the resulting mishaps into potential goldmines.
While the entire team 51 were busy getting their hearts racing, Stella Kidds was held up in a leadership conference, which apparently was meant for officers only.
Despite the rank-related setback, word of the firefighter's extraordinary performance at the conference reached Boden, who seemed impressed.
With the impressive turnout, it is most likely that the skillful fire operative would be considered for a possible promotion, to assume the role of an officer.

The crew boasts of a Squad Lieutenant, an Engine Lieutenant and a truck captain, all of whom play important roles in the series.
For Kidd to get promoted, however, one of these officers has to leave the crew to make room for her new position unless the firefighter gets inducted into a new firehouse as an officer and away from firehouse 51, which is the centre of the show.

"CHICAGO FIRE" SHOWRUNNER'S EARLIER HINTS
As growing excitement among viewers of the NBC series continue to spark, with most wondering which of the crew members would leave eventually, and what would become of Severide and Kidd's love story if either one exits the house, media outlets went digging for answers.
"They won't both be at 51 before the winter break."
"The winter finale (809) is a love story."
What greater love story would there be than witnessing the romance between Kidd and Severide soaring to greater heights?
