The novel coronavirus disease has taken many lives young and old this year. One person who also succumbed to the virus was Tyler Amburgey who was a Hockey coach in North Texas.
Tyler Amburgey is one of the people that died this year from the novel coronavirus disease. Sadly, the hockey coach was only 29 years of age when he passed away at his home in Lavon, Texas.
Until recently his wife, Aimee Amburgey, hadn’t addressed her husband’s death. This week she confirmed that her husband had tested positive for COVID-19 before his passing.

MISDIAGNOSING TYLER
Aimee recalled how the virus had manifested in him saying: “It started out like originally like with him getting like call like normal cold symptoms.” Over three days, Tyler’s symptoms advanced rapidly.
Aimee Amburgey explained how the medicine compromised her husband’s oxygen levels due to his COVID-19 diagnosis.
POSITIVE DIAGNOSIS FOR COVID-19
He ended up having to cancel his hockey practice and some of his players also tested positive for the virus. Tyler then started experiencing migraines and body aches but on the third day, he was able to rest.
Sadly, Aimee discovered her husband unresponsive in bed while their daughter, Riley, went out for swimming lessons. She called 911 while a neighbor tried CPR on Tyler but it was too late.
TYLER FOUND UNRESPONSIVE
While the couple’s young daughter, Riley, went out for swim lessons, Amburgey found her husband unresponsive in bed. Aimee confessed how taking sleeping pills to help him rest ended up having a negative effect on the hockey coach.
She explained how the medicine compromised her husband’s oxygen levels due to his COVID-19 diagnosis. Aimee described her late husband as thus:
“He was a great guy, and loving husband and a loving father.”

WHEN TYLER RETIRED
Tyler had retired from hockey in 2016 after starting to play the sport at the age of 7. He was described as a talented defenseman in the USA Hockey’s national player development program.
